Pirelli webbing is made from rubber, with a woven polyester core. It’s strong yet flexible, and has a “signature give” that renders it a nice alternative to springs, in certain types of frames. It became popular in the 1950s, and you see it a lot in furniture from that era.

One of four GORGEOUS Danish chairs for @raphael_brion, that have been disassembled for about ten years. Let’s put them back together and admire the elegant craftsmanship along the way. Notice how these metal pieces create a more secure join, without damaging the wood. These screws are less likely to strip out, and they aren’t damaging the wood with every reassembly. Genius!

Making a pattern is worth my time when I have multiples and there’s a challenging shape. It gives me a chance to work out the kinks on scrap fabric, and to consider the approach of the person who did it last time, before digging into (cutting into) new fabric. Sometimes a little extra time at the beginning pays off!

A little piano bench makeover today- we decided on a one inch extra firm foam to make the height just right, and my client found this pretty fabric from @charlottefabrics
I added a little handle/pull on the back for easier access to the interior storage and finished it up with a dust cover (not pictured 😉). Time to make some music!
