An honor and a delight to restore this beauty for @riahgoeshamm and the new offices of Hamm Realty!
This frame needed a bit of attention, and the old Pirelli webbing had run its course. All new everything plus stunning plaid fabric from @brentanofabrics was the perfect breath of fresh we needed to restore this beautiful piece to its former glory. From the buttons to the boxing, I was in pattern matching heaven.

Add pleats to the bottom pull! Other tips: release cuts on the upper part of the frame, work slowly and be patient, steam at the end to add extra tightness.

Install with about a 10% stretch, and disregard the state of my manicure 💅
Pirelli webbing is made from rubber, with a woven polyester core. It’s strong yet flexible, and has a “signature give” that renders it a nice alternative to springs, in certain types of frames. It became popular in the 1950s, and you see it a lot in furniture from that era.

One of four GORGEOUS Danish chairs for @raphael_brion, that have been disassembled for about ten years. Let’s put them back together and admire the elegant craftsmanship along the way. Notice how these metal pieces create a more secure join, without damaging the wood. These screws are less likely to strip out, and they aren’t damaging the wood with every reassembly. Genius!

Making a pattern is worth my time when I have multiples and there’s a challenging shape. It gives me a chance to work out the kinks on scrap fabric, and to consider the approach of the person who did it last time, before digging into (cutting into) new fabric. Sometimes a little extra time at the beginning pays off!
